Hi, I am illustrosa, a combination of my name, Rosa, and my work.

After my graduation at IUAV in Venice, I worked as an architect in Italy and in the Netherlands for several years and, at the same time, I followed workshops and courses in illustrations and animation. 

In 2O1O I decided to follow my passion and I started my own studio in The Netherlands, best choice ever because I found out the freedom to develop my inspiration, to start my own projects and to combine both architectural design and artmaking illustrations.

In my work I like to combine reality and imaginary, with geometry and colors using various traditional and digital techniques in a versatile way, based on the message I need to communicate. 

I’ve published as an author and illustrator the books “A day in Modica” (Un giorno a Modica) and “A day at kindergarten” (Un giorno all’asilo) both in Italian and English and I have recently illustrated “La Maga Saraghina. Storia di astri, piante e parole che curano” (Kromato Edizioni, 2O21). 

On the WORK page, you will find a selection of projects for clients (studio section) and my own artwork on the personal section. Since 2O15 I collaborate with the Amenta Incisioni Atelier focused on traditional exclusive handmade printing techniques such as engravings, lithography and woodcut. 

Besides drawing I like to travel and to get in touch with people from all around the world and listen to their stories. And as an Italian my daily routine starts of course with a good Italian cup of espresso 🙂
